Images of the 17,000 injured US soldiers in Iraq.

I think this is a Spanish or Mexican article (may be Portuguese for all I know), but it is a photo-filled article addressing the plight of the wounded veterans of Iraq. The death toll, currently around 2300 I think, gets a lot of attention, but 7 times that many are wounded, many of them pretty grievously. There are many amputees, but also many that have had their faces melted and whatnot.

Of course, twice that number, or more, have been killed in Iraq and who knows how many have been injured? And they undoubtedly don't get the medical treatment and support that our troops do.

I'm not trying to make a particular statement here, other than to argue that the people who were killed and wounded deserve to be recognized for it. I'll leave the critical commentary up to the reader.
